Stopping The Injection (Invega)

I am interested in stopping my invega injection and going on something else like a pill. I do not like the injection. Been on inega for 3 years. Has anyone stopped the injection and gone on a pill successfully?

I have never taken the Invega injection, but I’m on Invega pills. Personally, Invega is the only ap that has had an impact on my voices. I’ve tried many aps but I’m sticking to my 12 mg’s.

I dont see your reasoning. With the jab, you have a sore arm for a couple of days - but thats your meds sorted, and you dont have to worry about them.

Or are you really just coming off the meds altogether?

I went from the Invega injection to Abilify pills without any issues.

I never went on the injection because the voices were so nasty I always took the pills. I wasn’t perfect at it but I did it often enough to matter.

I was on Invega Sustenna for a little over a year: July, 2019 to September, 2020.

I now take 2 antipsychotics, Latuda and Seroquel. I also take a mood stabilizer, Lithium Carbonate. I have schizoaffective bipolar type, which is why I take a mood stabilizer.

If you don’t mind me asking what was the reasoning for the switch?

I did not like the way Invega made me feel. I felt like a zombie on it. But to be honest less of my symptoms changed when switching to Abilify then I expected. It wasn’t as pronounced of a change as I had hoped for. Whether that means that some of my symptoms were negatives of sz or Abilify also caused some of these symptoms or part of it was mental, I don’t know.

That’s what I’m about to do. Thanks for the reply.
