When I was 17 (over 2 years ago) I took the official Mensa IQ test and got in with a score of >135.
Over a year ago from that I took the WAIS-IV intelligence test administered by a psychologist and scored a full scale score of 122.
Should I worry?
No, IQ is proven to fluctuate. It’s not a “intrinsic” metric like height or weight, intelligence is a complex study
I feel dumb nowadays tho
I’ve “dumbed” down quite a bit over the years but I don’t know if I can completely blame the meds.
A lot of it has to do with my advancing age.
I think you can always be a member of Mensa once you get in.
I feel dumb too. I’m still managing fine tho, and I study
How they correlate is important
You might think 130 and 130= 130
That tool uses a certain correlation . The correlation between tests varies.
you must be smarter than me then crystal
what’s your IQ firemonkey?
At one point I’d have readily given you a range, but truth is I’m a compulsive test taker whilst being increasingly sceptical about such tests. The only time I did an official test I was never told the result . Other people have rated me < 90 or less, through to possibly the world’s most intelligent person saying that my potential is huge.
But as you’ve asked, take with a very large pinch of salt, on non proctored tests created by psychometricians 142 -152.
you’re a genuine genius FM
my test was said i was 115 but i’m not sure how legit that test was, it was on blossum up which isnt the best. i wanted a test that could give my an idea of IQ & EQ bc i think emotional intelligence is probably more important to me than knowledge that i don’t really need or would use.
I feel like you put too much weight on iq scores. I get by just fine and I feel like my IQ is less than yours probably
I have increasingly mixed and sceptical views about it. There are so many variables ,environmentally etc that can affect performance on an IQ test. Then there’s the question of ‘what is or isn’t intelligence?’
A good number of the people I know got a cognitive boost through being put on ADHD meds.
