I think Simone Biles is helping the stigma with mental illness, at least a little bit. She is a gold metalist gymnast, and is still struggling with mental issues.

I’m having the biggest problem accepting that the United States star Olympian took a mental health day on one of the biggest days of her career.

Sorry for being a dixk.

I hope I’m wrong obviously and that this will become a ‘thing’. But idk…. Time will tell I guess

Even Olympians have mental health problems. It’s just a fact. Anybody can have a mental health problem.

People risk their ass all the time. It’s called life.

Even white collar jobs have to get in their car and drive to work.

Remote work cuts back on that risk. There are so many ways to make this world a kinder and more accepting place for all. Life is always going to be harsh to a degree, yes, but I see that as even more of a reason to approach things from a place of compassion.

There’s some serious issues with PTSD these days we are only just hitting the top of. Years ago people came through war and had serious issues that weren’t addressed. Yes. It was a different time but just because we’ve moved forward into a world where such things are not only something we acknoweldge as being bad for people it’s really something that has a major affect on people’s function.

@anon99082702 . Don’t be so harsh to judge something you don’t have intimate knowledge of. Yes. Sports stars can be prima donnas but you still need to allow people a fair trial even in public opinion.
