that my maternal grandmother had ten kids, and they still put her in a nursing home. I guess she refused to walk, didn’t heal her hip properly.
She was in there over 20 years. It was disheartening for me, because when I was growing up she was vibrant, and talked a lot, and listened to NPR, cooked 3 hot meals every day for my uncles on the farm.
I promise my mom I’ll never put her in a home, but I might die before she does.
