I honestly think I am truly paranoid sz. As opposed to my current diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder - bipolar type.

What should I do? The only thing I can think of is to leave a message with my psychiatrist.

I am Schizoaffective BP type. I know this because I have been very manic in the past and once you’ve been manic you become addicted to it, I certainly have. Any slight euphoric feeling I have I want to be hypermanic/manic so bad just to have that feeling again.

I was DXed disorganized SZ 25 years ago, but I’m told that’s no longer in the DSM V.

I think I was diagnosed correctly.
I have disorganized traits and paranoid traits, so it’s undifferentiated

I’ve been diagnosed with both. I guess it doesn’t make a difference. I don’t know what’s worse: paranoid schizophrenia or sza-bipolar. Currently, my diagnosis is just schizo-affective disorder bipolar type.

You could try asking your doctor the difference or why he diagnosed you as such.

Ok, lately i had visual and audio hallucinations… Also i have my own belifs like conspiracys and such, sometimes i think people can read or hear my thoughts when walking on street etc I’m on 9 mg Invega but i think my pdoc will increase my dosage when i’ll tell her. I don’t doubt my dx currently

Sometimes I doubt my diagnosis but I still take my meds because I am afraid of something happening. I actually spent $1000 to see a psychiatrist just to try to convince me that there was something wrong with me

@dougRN I’m currently on citalopram, abilify, and loxapine. And I’ll be starting seroquel soon.

I have auditory hallucinations, intense paranoia and delusions, and occasional/or at least what I believe is more situational depression.

I got diagnosed with schizoaffective bipolar type just based on psychosis and depression. So I really dont know how the come up with diagnoses. Maybe they diagnosed me because it cycles.

In the US, a diagnosis is nothing more than a label for the insurance company. Well that was what I was told
