I usually I don’t see anything, like visiual hallucinations. But the last weeks I have seen butterflies on two occations. The first time I saw a bag red and orange butterfly it sat on a doorhandle and then it just disappeared right before my eyes. The second time my room was filled with Black butterflies coming from above.
Does Any one know what that means? I believe it must be a symbol of something.
Someone asked if voices are just voices and of where they Come from. I was wondering if visions are just visions or if there is a meaning to them? I have seen butterflies which doesn’t scare me but People see all sorts of Thing when they are hallucinating.
I don’t think it means anything. They are just hallucinations.
Maybe you’re right. Maybe I just wissed that it meant something
I’m sure there are books about it, if you really wanted to look. I associate butterflies with transformation, but as I said in another thread, talking about meanings could lead to people believing in some dangerous delusions.
I’m sorry. I didn’t want to course Any harm. I don’t usually type in english because it is not my Mother tongue. And that is what I believe cause the mistakes.
And thank you for making this clear to me. I’m New on this forum and I will try to be more carefull
When I get visual hallucinations it’s frequently bugs crawling along the walls and floor boards. I don’t think they symbolize anything, but I am afraid of crawly things so it startles me.
When I had visual hallucinations, I saw animals jumping in front of my car. Hallucinations don’t really mean anything. They’re just your brain misfiring in a weird way.
You believing it’s a symbol might just be feeding your illness.
But is it possible to make hallucinations go away with therapy or does it require medication?
But our Dreams can be symbols as well and that doesn’t nessecarily make us ill to believe that. And eventhough it is a hallucination it must come from somewhere
I had an Aunt who was bipolar and asked me several times “did I ever see flocks of blackbirds flying right at you?” We knew it was a hallucination, no surprise as my family on my father’s side was rife with (mostly undiagnosed) mi. May or not be similar to your butterflies.
My visual hallucinations always looked like translucent ghost like images made out of pure energy, they were things like a floating head or a ghost like head shooting out of the face of someone I was actually talking with. I never ascribed any meaning to them though, I didn’t really know what to think of them.
