I’m looking for somewhere to live.
But I don’t even have proof of my work.
And I don’t even know when I’m starting.
Because of the criminal record check process.
It is going to be a miracle if someone accepts me

I have to have moved out by beginning of September as my family is being kicked out.
I’m sorry to hear this news. If you don’t mind, may I ask what’s wrong with your family?
The landlord is kicking us out now because they want to sell the house instead of rent it.
I feel extremely guilty and bad to go and make them rent a new place that has a room for me as soon I would be moving out anyway.
So instead I need to find somewhere to live on my own now.
Have you looked into renting a room in someone’s house? I did that for years, it can work out pretty well. I was afraid I would get suicidal if I lived alone so I figured if I rented a room I would have people there. And that’s how it worked.
When I moved out of the board & care home in 1995 my sister offered to rent me a spare bedroom in her duplex. This was 1996-99 so I only got charged $300 a month for rent. I paid my own way and pulled my own weight for the three years I was there. I did my share of chores and picked up after myself and cleaned the kitchen after every time I used it. Plus, I got to hang out with my sister and her boyfriend and her friends.
After that ended I rented rooms three more times until I finally moved into my own studio apartment.
It can be a pretty good deal. I don’t know how different it would be in the U.K. Now you can’t get a good room in this area for under a $1000 a month. And you’ll probably end up sharing a bathroom. You can get deals where you have your own private bathroom and kitchen privilege’s.
You might find a room in some families house where you have run of the house and you can hang out in the living room or out in the backyard with the family. It all depends.
I always figured renting a room in someone’s house was like automatically having built-in friends.
hey thankyou Nick
yeah that is actually what I am doing.
thing is that
I will be working as a cleaner in a hospital in the middle of an infectious disease pandemic
I don’t know my chances of finding someone who will accept me to live with them
but I will try and try and TRY
thanks for sharing
Just tell them you work for the NHS, saving lives, and hold up a kids picture of a rainbow.
lollllllll…you’re funny, hope someone will be ok with it
hey in canada theres a new program called “health worker housing”. It helps healthcare workers find short term housing amid covid-19. You should see if they have it in your area or something like it.
maybe you could contact them and ask them if they know of an equivalent in your country
their email is housing4frontlinehealth [at g mail dot com ]
