I shouldn’t mess with my meds

I never learn.
I keep playing around with my risperidone dose because my psychiatrist is unavailable so I take matters into my own hands.
I recently raised my risperidone dose on my own and was doing much better except for annoying side effects so a couple of days ago I reduced my dose down to 3mg again and today I’m super paranoid and I’m starting to get delusional thoughts.
Fukc it… I’m raising the dose back up starting tomorrow to 4mg and leaving it there.
I see her in a few days.
I’m starting to think my phone is hacked.
That’s not a good sign

I think seeing what your psychiatrist says would be good.

Yes but in the meantime I have to go back up to 4mg
I don’t want to lose insight

I may end up seeing a different pdoc
This one is too busy to be bothered

@Wave,I haven’t been here.
As you still have a problem beetween 3 and four, which are low doses for me,I suggest 3.5 mg…
Just my opinion, until you contact your dr.

Yeah maybe I’ll do this @zoa
Thanks
Good idea

I was going to say the same thing (3.5mg). I’m not a doctor though!

Please don’t go up and down on meds. Just stay on the recommended dosage. You have insight so that really helps. Regular people also have paranoid thoughts it’s just part of being human

Have you heard pdoc?

Hi buddy, thanks for your concern
Currently I’ve been feeling more stable at 3mg so I’ll stick with this dose until I see her next week.

I’ve stopped my meds before a few times thinking I was not schizophrenic or that I could handle it. I never tapered slowly or anything. I usually get more symptoms and now I take my meds regularly and consistently. I hated the side effects like sedation, lack of motivation, and weight gain.

I haven’t stopped taking my meds
I just adjusted the dose a tiny bit
My doctor gives me a bit of leeway
I don’t recommend that everyone do this.
I’ve been in the system for decades

From what I’ve seen, I don’t recommend that you do it either @Wave. It’s not good to mess with our meds or dosages. We didn’t graduate from med school.
