I seem to be in the minority - Poll

This poll is kind of for my only personal curiosity since I feel that I am in the minority in only having delusions and no other positive symptoms while in psychosis. I want to know how many there are like me.

  • I only had delusions
  • I had other positive symptoms

I still have hallucinations. Already 10 years now. Count yourself lucky!

I have had a lot of different positive symptoms. But someone I work with who also has sz told me he only had delusions as positive symptoms

I only had delusions until I stopped taking my meds about four years into the illness. Then the hallucinations came.

I had delusions and hallucinations (auditory, visual and tactile) and experience a negative symptom called “The flat effect” (Although it is not severe or debilitating)

I don’t have delusions or hallucinations anymore on my current meds.

I do admit that I sometimes had a ringing/buzzing in my ear during psychosis. I suppose that it is possible that that could have been an auditory hallucination…IDK. It sounded a little bit like the old “beeeeeeeep” when the tv stations use to go off the air in the old days. It was extremely faint though. In my delusional state, I thought that it was the sound of someone accessing my brain electronically.

Edit: It could have just as easily been tinnitus.

I will say my delusions are my primary problem during psychosis but I get hallucinations too

Look up a list of positive symptoms, you must have had some agitation or disorganized speech.

I just had delusions mainly.

I’ve looked up positive symptoms before. I did not have disorganized speech. I don’t think agitation is a positive symptom. If I was agitated it was because of my delusions anyway.

I’m mostly asking about hallucinations of one kind or another.

Agitation is definitely a positive symptom of sz. Contributed to me becoming homeless once or twice when I became too unstable over little things at home.

I’ve never experienced positive symptoms, only ipseity disturbances.

You remind me of Roquentin from Sartre’s Nausea, but that book was more about a generalized MI.

Edit but I guess in an opposite kind of way because he was adamant that he existed.

@dividedself I remember Roquentin, he was a dirty fella, which I’m not. But I take your point.
