I remember when Kurt Cobain died

I remember trying to learn all the songs off their first album in one night the night I heard Kurt died…were you upset when he died?

oh me too…at one point I lamented to my empty duplex walls…“Kurt’s gone !!” and then started bawling.

I was sad for him but I didn’t cry. It was sad but I was also concerned about suicide being romanticized as a result.

Honestly wasn’t. Wasn’t a huge fan of the band and I’m never really fussed when most celebs shuffle off this mortal coil. A four year old boy and six year old girl went missing on the other side of the country in the last week and are unlikely to be alive at this point. I’ve had a few horrible dreams about them and try not to think about it because I find it upsetting.

So, kids, yes. Musicians who are more than old enough to handle their own shite, especially when they’re wealthy AF, no.

I wasn’t particularly upset when he died. I don’t even remember when it was. Now, if a family member dies, i remember it, but not musicians or actors.

Not a fan of his music

It did not make me very emotional when I heard that Cobain died.

I did get very emotional when I heard that Princess Diana died.

Nobody’s death has upset me outside of family/friends. Except perhaps for Trevor Moore. We lost him far too early and he was set to possibly be the next Jim Carrey. He died from stumbling out his balcony drunk during covid from what I heard.

I remember when Cobain died though we had this one blonde girl in our class (was about 7th grade at the time) who always wore Nirvana shirts and she was really upset for like a week.

I think it’s a shame when they die but I don’t get that upset over celebrity deaths. The only exceptions that made me sad for more than a moment were when John Lennon was killed and I was genuinely sad when George Foreman died. I was sad about George because I’m a fan of the golden age of boxing during the 60’s and 70’s and he used to be a sullen, mean guy but he changed and became this funny, positive person who only had nice things to say about people.

I was never a fan of Nirvana but Kurt Cobain was such a big name that I took notice for a short while when he died.

So random question but, how did he die again?

Suicide. Shot himself with a shotgun.

I don’t recall getting too emotional when Kurt Cobain died but in hindsight I do find it very tragic. Nirvana was a great band and Nevermind and their Unplugged album are both masterpieces in my opinion. They were a garage rock/punk band from the outskirts of Washington who got lucky and became famous. I think the fame was hard for them to handle as they came from very humble beginnings. We can only imagine the heights that they could’ve climbed to, but as they say “It’s only rock and roll.”

That’s sad.

I remember aspiring to be a famous singer when I was in high school. But I look at how things are right now, and I am so glad I didn’t go down that route. I did research into Hollywood and how some people rose to stardom pretty much overnight, and it’s sad. It’s extremely sad how much of a toll Hollywood takes on a person. Plus there’s some shady characters in Hollywood too. I’m so glad I chose not to be famous, cause I couldn’t imagine not being able to live a life separate from being in the spotlight. That and the media likes to capitalize on a person’s past.

Another reason why I’m glad I never became a famous singer is, you hear about Justin Bieber who was literally such a sensation worldwide, and what Diddy did to that poor child. It’s just all messed up. I have a messy life to begin with, I don’t need to make it more messy LOL.

I read fame was hard for Kurt. He had depression and anxiety too. I didn’t feel much when he died either, but I was surprised. He was married with a kid. I also think it’s sad in hindsight.

George Foreman went from being scary to being a teddy bear. I was saddened about his passing too.

As for Kurt Cobain, I remember there being a lot of urban legends of what really occurred. Conspiracy theories about someone else pulling the trigger. I was saddened to hear about him passing but I can’t say I was terribly upset. Quite a few famous people died young around that time. It was just sad to news. Really liked the unplugged album he did with Nirvana.
