I’m having the kind of day that could be completely cured by a benzo.
But maybe it’s better I didn’t keep any, as one benzo could quickly lead to me being back on them full time. I struggled so much to give them up.

I loved those benzos too especially when I had akathisia. Double joy, the end of restless leg syndrome and so relaxed too. I gave it up when the akathisia stopped being full blown. I only get it for a few minutes and then I crave the procyclidine so much.
Don’t look back @everhopeful.
I gave up Benzos and am glad that I did.
Hang in there and keep yourself distracted.
Sounds like you have the best wisdom in this matter already. I have not had this particular struggle but I know from other’s accounts how hard it is to give them up. Glad you had victory over them and continue in it today. Hope your day gets better, @everhopeful. Best wishes.
Maybe extra theanine? Might sound silly but drinking tea instead of coffee can help me sometimes.
I read tea is a source of l-theanine. Might have been green tea.
Yes, I’m considering some extra l-theanine. I’ve cut it down from 800mg a day to 400mg a day, so I’m battling the urge to go back up again. But it’s definitely on the table if this continues into tomorrow. I’ve no choice.
I was on Klonopin a long time. It was nice. We make our own med. trays where I live, and I always put in a few extra for the days when I had more stress, like when we went to town. Then I stupidly told my pdoc that I had given a couple of my Klonopin to this girl who was craving heroin, and he took me off the drug. He weaned me off them slowly, but it was still stressful coming off them.
I don’t understand the issue with benzodiazepines. I take Xanax and only get enough for one a day and I only take .25mg.
I take one if I need one and they help but I don’t ever crave one. I am not addicted to them. If I don’t have anxiety they don’t do anything for me.
I hear some people buy and sell them on the street. What do they supposedly do for you if you don’t have anxiety? I don’t get that effect.
There might be a problem if you try to come off it. Your body will be physically addicted. That was the issue for me.
Hang in there!!!

Do you take an antipsychotic? I recently came off a benzo that I’d been taking every day since 1989 (Xanax), and how I did it (this was an agreement between my pdoc and I) was by taking 50 mg of Seroquel in the morning, 50 mg at 3:00 PM, and 400 mg at hour of sleep.
If you do take an AP you may want to ask your pdoc about divided doses to help with benzo withdrawal.
They say switching to a longer half life benzo can help coming off them. But I think clonazepam is the longest acting benzo there is.
Yes, I’m on abilify 10mg. I’ve been off benzos for some time now. This isn’t withdrawal, it’s just a day that a benzo would have helped.
i’m trying to lay off benzos a bit. only take them on days when i really need them. i heard a familiar voices of aaron and rebecca and they were super annoying constantly critiquing every thing i’ve done today its really distracting but i haven’t taken one yet this week and i’m hoping to make it to saturday and not need one.
@everhopeful
I just started over a month ago on benzodiazepine Clonazepam, needed increase quickly and they it up from .5 daily to 1MG daily. It helped for 2 weeks then started to kick out. Called and they won’t put me up again. Feel like it was useless and I probably have to wean off it now…
At first with 1MG for maybe 2 weeks it made my muscles warm and calm and I didn’t care that I didn’t do much. It was like a painkiller or a stiff drink. But I didn’t get more motivated. And it stopped working.
I have been having more illusions since on it though.?? at least I think that’s the case because I notices it right away.
Any of this make sense? I thought it would help more and both doses stopped working eventually quick.
Yes, that happens with benzos. They’re only for short term use for that reason.
Oh I see… I didn’t realize they were that short term. Well I’ll see what happens now, it is what it is.
