I am still using an LG G2 from 2013 as a second phone to listen to music. I hacked it to use the newest version of Android.

My first smartphone was android and Ive stuck with it.

I don’t know anything about iPhones.

I might get the Google Pixel 7 Pro when it’s released.

Currently have a Google Pixel 4a(5G).

it seems like the only iphone users who think android are bad are people who know nothing about them and compare the latest top of the line iphone to the androids phones that use cpu’s from 10 years ago like the prepaid ones. there are so many good android phones that are recent and very high quality and samsung has outspec’d apple every year especially when it comes to features and they are close when it comes to cpu speed

Android requires a lot of extra RAM and runs hotter at higher clock speeds, need bigger batteries, etc cause its not optimized.

Now I have been using a chinese Xiaomi phone I bought for 130$ back in June 2020. It still works fine, 5020mah battery.

The difference is minimal and already better than Apple with 5000+ mah batteries. As for the RAM I have seen on Youtube tgat Apple is more optimized by 2Gb RAM so a 4Gb Appple is about 6-8Gb RAM Android. Androids can go up to 18Gb RAM since a few years. The only advantage right now Apple has is a 30% faster single core and 8-9% faster multicore CPU.

This is a beast phone, 6000mah battery, 18Gb RAM, 8K video, 165Hz oled screen, 512gb ssd, has another oled screen on the back etc

Honestly I wish Android OS was as optimized as Apple iOS. Android compensate for it with a bigger battery, more RAM etc

They are trying - Qualcomm and Tensor chips will get better and Google will have less chips to optimize android to. Samsung said they are switching to Qualcomm.

The first Tensor in the pixel 6 was a bit disappointing as its slower than its Qualcomm competitor and slower than Apple. There is now a new Asian competitor Mediatek that currently beats both Qualcomm and Tensor but is very close to Apple, 8-9% slower in multicore vs Apple iphone 13 bionic A15. Apple will soon release the iphone 14 Bionic A16 which will increase that difference in speed. Its a race!
