Ever since I got an iPhone, I’ll never go back to an Android. I really love the iPhone.

I’ve only ever tried android.

I prefer Android because I can theoretically use DroidScript to write simple programs on it until Google declares it malware again. I get so sick of decision makers trying to keep mobile software development out of the hands of the masses. Apple has no shame about that

I have had iPhones for a while now.

Good quality phones, with a lot of features

Pricey, but for the ease of use and the fact it connects to my iMac, iCloud and Apple Watch makes it very appealing

The eco-system is by far the most useful to me

I also managed to get a @me.com email with my full name without a dot or a space included

I use iPhone. Recently upgraded to the iPhone 13 pro.

I have thought about going to android but it would be a change maybe I would regret. I am set in my ways.

I like my iPhone 12 but regret buying it. I paid $900 and all I use on it is about 6 functions and a few apps. Technically, the lady at Best Buy said the whole thing needs to be replaced because the ā€œ1ā€ key on the keypad doesn’t work on prompts on telephone calls. Yeah, weird, I know. I found on phone calls that the ā€œ1ā€ key will work on prompts if I press ā€œspeakerphoneā€ first. But I hear Android phones are OK-and cheaper. Wish I would have gotten one of those instead.

Thanks for posting this.

I was working today on using DroidScript to implement a mini language I’ve already implemented in Python, and it was taking me a little time to implement a ā€˜split’ function that would truly split a string into an array based on white space.

Then, I listened to what I said above. Google might arbitrarily declare DroidScript malware again at any time, so why am I wasting my time? I need to go to a different plan, I think.

Thanks again.

What’s the purpose of your language, @Clint ? Is it truly a new language, or just a library on top of an existing one?

My heart says IPhone but my head says Android. So I voted IPhone.

It is a mini language. I’ve mentioned here about being able to preserve my poetry and songs through memorization. The purpose of the language is to convert simple code into poetry for memorization.

Oh wow that’s a noble pursuit. Let us know how it goes, maybe you can even show us how it works once it’s ready!

I’ve only had iPhones in more than 10 years.

If I’m happy about a product, I’m extremely loyal and disregard the fact that they are pricey.

My current iPhone is an iPhone 12 and cost me 800-900€.

My four main uses for my phone:

  1. Photography
  2. Music player
  3. Reminders (mostly through my watch)
  4. Online banking

The part I use least and hate most is the actual phone itself. Don’t phone me if it’s not an emergency. Also, don’t phone me if it’s an emergency as I can’t help you.

Android. I’ll never buy another apple product, or service. It’s all a grift. Once you buy one, you have to continue to buy into other apple services. I like having other options.

My last iPhone was iPhone 4 but I like freedom and more functionality so switched to Android. I hated using iTunes. With Android the storage is detected as a drive by Windows and you just drop anything you want unlike iTunes. It feels faster and you can use up to a 1Tb microsd. Downloads are easier etc You can also install .apk files outside the play store for let say location restricted apps etc
