So when I take melatonin at night, I feel like it temporarily reduces my negative symptoms (aka anhedonia in particular). But then I fall asleep right after. Never have tried it during the day but I’m almost considering experimenting with it. I know melatonin is supposed to be a pretty powerful antioxidant. And also anti inflammatory. Wonder if that has something to do with it. Could also be a weird placebo.
I feel better at night too, so there might be something to it.
Melatonin caused hallucination at me but i m not sure that if this is common side effects or not.
It could also be that you are on the threshold of sleep. Every daily worry gone away ready to fade into that state.
I think you’re right, it’s when I feel most relaxed.
I wouldn’t use it at daytime. It might throw your day-night rythm off. There are a lot of antioxidants out there. You might for example want to try NAC in the daytime to calm your mind.
I use NAC already, but yeah you’re probably right. I might just use a lot during the night time to get more out of it. (slowly work my way up the dosage because I know if you take too much it can be hard to sleep)
I’d say give that experiment a try. It may screw up your circadian rhythm though, maybe other unforeseen problems, if that happens you’ll have to quit. Otherwise it could be a good thing.
Start at a low dose and go from there, see how it affects you.
