I am trying to get harassment stopped. I was even assaulted. The police blew me off because of MI. I thought she would give up on trying to punish me.
I had a check taken out of my checkbook. They said they didn’t have it. They accused me of stealing narcotics. I didnt. I was threatened with bodily harm. I was assaulted. Then I was hospitalized for pancreatitis. Everything stopped. Then, on Thursday night, someone came banging on my door and didnt stop. It was her. She was drunk and high. She told me waldo died. She kept trying to push past me, inside, but I body blocked her. She finally left, and I called her boyfriend. I also texted her telling her I’m not her friend and to leave me alone. I blocked her texts and calls.
Thing is, I’m scared. I went to the police department. They’re doing extra patrols for a week. They told me to get property management involved. They recommended attempting to get a restraining order.
I’ve had friends do worse. So to me it sounds entirely possible.
Do you have any neighbors looking out for you? Can you tell your case manager? I’ll bet he/she has clients who have been in similar circumstances and he/she might have some suggestions. Yeah, do what the police say. I know this is serious business. If the police are treating you blatantly wrong you can file a complaint or go over the head of anyone who is not doing their job.
Definitely follow through with the restraining order and no you don’t sound delusional. You’ve brought her up before when she’s harassed you before and it’s all very believable. Some people are just bad news and she sounds like she is baaaad news.
I dont qualify for case management. I’m on medicare and make too much. I dont even know what to tell my neighbors. I feel like this is my fault. But I’m doing everything I can to change it. I’m very frustrated. I’ll bring it up when I file for the restraining order.
It would be a good idea to let any neighbors you know about the situation, neighbors you can trust.
Also, if you have to go to management don’t feel bad about it. Their job is to to make sure people are safe, and that the people violating that safety are booted off.
