I need to control my spending

Hey i bought my guitar on impulse. I was on a manic spending spree.

I bought a 7 string guitar and a 6 string, an electric 88key piano, a dj turntable setup, studio monitors, an analog music thing, a microkorg, a maschine studio electronic music making thing. And some other random music stuff.

So dont feel bad

I had to sell so much ■■■■ once i realized what id been doing.

But i enjoyed the piano a lot and the guitars.

Sold my 7 and kept my 6.

Locking for yourself into a hobby by buying things you are not skilled enough to benefit from will set you up for failure.

I will not fail. I promise you that. All it takes to get skilled at guitar is determination and time spent. I have the determination…it’s only a matter of time…

If I become single I think I will spend more money on take away food.

I don’t really have any savings but would be good if i could save some.

I’m buying a drone for doing aerial photography.

Wife:
You don’t know how to fly one and you don’t know how to do aerial photography. You’re going to spend a pile of money and then not use it.

Me (two weeks later):

Wife:
I guess I shouldn’t have talked you out of buying the pro version, eh?

You will learn better and faster with a decent guitar compared to a cheap one. Decent amps even more so (imo)

You’re suffering from what is called GAS - gear acquisition syndrome, otherwise known as gear lust. It’s rarely fatal but can be debilitating to your finances. There’s no known cure, but total abstinence can keep it at bay. Hang in there, my brother.

When you are not happy with what you, you never will be. I spend all my money on my addiction, don’t know its an unhealthy hobby. When i was working i didn’t have any financial problems. Either you got time and no money, or plenty of money and no time to spend it.
