I need new checks, how often do you write a check?

my bank sold and changed names, i have a few checks left, but they still have my old address and old bank name on them. time to buy some new checks. i typically only write one check a month for rent. i go through them slow, still have my first books of checks from when i opened my checking account 6 or 7 years ago. how often do you write a check?

I had five checkbooks disappear from my bedside drawer years back. I thought my neighbors had broken in and stole them or that the police had taken them but it was probably my parents they had a key to my condo. I thought that the neighbors were dropping them in the parking lot. I also thought there was an invisible police raid one night and I was on the floor in my apartment. I thought people were able to be invisible somehow because I was seeing blurs of them here and there.

Not written a check in over 10 years, in fact im not even sure the bank does them anymore. Dont even deal in cash, i pay bills using a simple debit card.

They have been phased out in the uk i think. Unless you want a bankers draft, but they charge you for that.

Once a month for rent and every once in a while a need comes up for cash to a person. My checks last forever. Mostly I use my credit card and then pay it off once a month electronically.

Every month to my parents for rent. $300. They are putting it in an old account and saving up for my car. I am on medicaid so this bypasses the fact that I can only have $1500 in my bank account.

@Quehead have they looked into setting up an ABLE account or special needs trust for you?

No.

fifteen fifteen.

You should tell them about it. They are specifically setup to help disabled people save for houses and cars without losing benefits.
