I need help but no help

I don’t need a therapist or a med change or sympathy I need more money I simply can’t live off what I bring in in disability on top of my income from working part time. I am too disabled to keep working at my pace but I have literally no choice. I looked into housing options near where I want to move and it’s not even considered a very expensive area but all I could afford was an apartment less than half the size of my current place and more expensive . 250 SQ foot for $700! What is this economy coming to

Can you make arrangements with your partner? It is important if you are expecting. I do agree housing is out of control.

You need to get mentally stable first.

Everything else is material losses.

We all handle this situation differently. I would live in my car or shelter if I can’t pay rent.

I have walked out on leases. Left all my belongings.

Does your city have any programs for people with mental illness to get decent housing? My city has apartments that are supposed to be decent and safe that are subsidized but not horrible environments. I’m waiting to get into one but I have stuff on my record so I have to wait 6 more mo

I don’t know, man. We’re still recovering from the excess spending during COVID and now we have a shortage of housing supply. My daughter moved back home because there are too few apartments available here in town and there are literally bidding wars over them now.

Can you do a cash job like pet sitting, dog walking, babysitting, or cleaning?

I work 20 hrs a week at my.job and have SSDI. I’m at my limit work wise.

That really sucks. I’m sorry you’re struggling.

Does your boyfriend work too?

My city has subsidised accomoodation for those claiming disability or income benefits

I guess not everywhere in the world is so kind to us Sz people

@ajassat , where I’m from they have it too. However, there’s over a 10 year waitlist to get a place.

Ah yes, I’ve experienced this wait time too

I find speaking to a health professional and getting them to write up some supporting evidence can fast track the application process

@ajassat , if I need it in the future I’ll try getting help.

A group home might be possible, I’m unsure to be honest. I’m not ready to give up that much independence. I can afford my bills if I work my hours and live alone, hopefully…
