I need advice on school

So after being accepted into the big state university the reality of big tuition is starting to set in.

I mean their tuition is ridiculous, nearly 400 a credit hour.

If I stick with this school I’ll have to only go part time and it will take about two years.

My other option is to go back to Park University where the tuition is really cheap but that would limit my degree options to criminal justice if I want to get it done in a year. I have an associate’s in criminal justice from them

Criminal justice is a much more marketable degree than liberal arts. But I don’t think I want to work in that field.

Thoughts?

It really sucks how expensive college has gotten. My dad keeps telling me to get my bachelor’s degree, but with what money?

Idk about the US but here there is financial help by the governent for students. You get the most if you don’t work. Idk maybe there is a discount if you’re on disability?

Lots of opinion on this issue. Pro and Cons. Of debt vs college degree and salaries.

Yes, we get FAFSA money here. It’s really peanuts though if you don’t want to take out any federal loans, which I sure as hell don’t.

Is there a maximum number of credits that they charge for? Can you take more credits per semester to reduce the cost per credit? I am thinking about signing up for full time.

I know what you’re talking about it, but I don’t know of any universities in my area that offer that kind of discount.

that’s kind of an oxymoron isn’t it: Criminal Justice.

idk, just personally, it’s never something I’d study.

Haha I see what you mean.

It’s kinda a social science degree for people who want to go into law enforcement, corrections, or private security.

I needed an elective course in university to fill in credits and saw criminal justice, I thought I would hate that. I am more of a science guy.

hmmm, yeah, I kinda figured that.
those on the Right want more cops,
but those on the Left want less.

It was actually really interesting to study when I got my associates in it. I took classes like criminal law, criminology, and crime investigation.

Do they offer grants or covid relief help? My college has covid relief funds. They helped me last semester with all of my tuition and this semester with half. It’s a community college though…so tuition is less than a state school.

Hi dear! The state university offered me a little grant, but it’s barely enough to cover full time tuition and books.

I’m wondering if it’s better to just stick with community college and get a certificate in something with computers.

it is good to know the law. law is an interesting field. it is a science nevertheless. i like to vary. all knowledge can benefit you.

Yes ma’am, I’m in the Midwest of America. I’m looking at a program that will pay my community college tuition, but the catch is I have to stay in this state for two years after graduating.

oh wow, never heard of that.
my income level, and my daughter, CF, got her free tuition,
just room and board she had to pay.

Are you in an apartment can you relocate very far?

I think 400 per credit is not really expensive among four year colleges. But often they will only charge for 12 credits and then the credits up to 18 have no extra charge.

Yeah, I live in an apartment. My rent here is dirt cheap, I’m on HUD Section 8. That’s why I’m hesitant to relocate.
