Should I pursue

Have you ever stayed committed to work or university?

I plan to go university but I’m questioning why because I won’t be able to go back to benefits that I rely on to live on, and will have to not have the pleasure of staying at home. I’m financially comfortable and wouldn’t get much more with my pursuit. So why do I feel I need to go?

I just know down the line I will fall off the rails like I have done in the past and where I am independent I will struggle. I am so indecisive.

If school doesn’t get you into debt, I think it’s good to do

No more school for me, it’s too expensive. I just buy college textbooks and read at home.

I succeeded at university but couldn’t afford to go further in my studies than a master’s, and then i couldn’t work in my chosen field of study so it was a waste of money anyway. I say if you can afford to go to school, go for the experience, but don’t rely on it to give you some fantastic career afterwards.

It also has to make sense. I’m at the point in my life where I can afford to get a degree, but don’t have the time left to realize its value.

I did a Masters pre-sz and a Bachelor post-sz.

To me it was worth the investment of time and money. The second time because of limited alternative things that I could do.

It did sting for me, because I’m naturally a person that wants to have impact and lead through example, lile being a vegetarian :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

If you can afford it I say give it a shot. I’d definitely try if I could do it without taking out loans.

Personally, I think college is a scam. You have to pay an arm and a leg for it, and most people take out loans to pay for it (which I would never do, considering the interest rates nowadays). And then you work your butt off to receive a piece of paper telling you you graduated. And then when you want to pursue your dream job, you’re not guaranteed a job outside of college.

Sorry but to me that is a downright scam. Now, if this was like 50-60 years ago, I’d say go for it, cause at least you had a chance at doing something you want to do straight out of college. But the fact that you’re not guaranteed a job straight out of college, then why go?

So no, I’ll never go to college because of the reasons I listed above, along with other reasons that I won’t discuss in this forum. College is a scam in my personal opinion.

Not to mention that if you do get a degree and you get your dream job, you’re gonna be taxed higher too. How nice of that huh? You work your a** off for 4 years (or more) in college, all so you can be taxed like hell come tax time.

But…up to you man, I just think it’s a lose/lose situation all the way around. But, it’s your life and at the end of the day it’s up to you. I just think getting a degree anymore isn’t worth the trouble, but maybe for you it is. Regardless I support you in whatever it is you wanna do.
