I might get a reprieve from the roaches

Turkestan roaches. They were brought to the U.S. from Turkestan wherever that is, I think it’s in the mideast, they’re not native to the U.S. They get pretty big, about an inch long and when I first moved in in June I was getting about one a week inside my studio. Luckily, they don’t breed inside like German or American roaches but seeing a huge black bug inside is always a shock and I even had one crawl on my arm while I was laying on my bed.

I was just asking ChatGPT about them and it says they are less likely to come indoors in the winter, they basically live outdoors but during the summer months they occasionally wander indoors. The management sprayed for roaches back in September and since then I’ve only seen about one a month and now I might not see any during the whole winter. Great! I hate insects.

Hell no. I’m scared of big roaches. I ran outside yelling with a cockroach in a cup yesterday.

Dude I’m sorry you gotta live through this. I have spiders and house centipedes here where I live but no roaches yet “knock on wood”. It would not surprise me if I got some in the near future. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

This post inspired me to Google “biggest cockroach”. I feel nothing but regret ATM :flushed_face:

I understand the ick factor of having one of those on your arms and in your presence in general. I have some roaches in my unit, but am doing everything i can do to exterminate them…. Eck, i hate them .

I’ve lived in California and remember having issues with roaches a couple of times.

Don’t have that problem back in the UK. Do have a
Problem with mould though in my flat

I keep putting bait out for roaches. They just keep coming back.

I have no tolerance for bugs in my living space. The only ones who dare are ants, and just for a couple months of the summer in our kitchen.
