Honestly I thank God for how much better I am. I hope everyone here will get better. The anti-depressants and anti-psychotics are really helping. I feel much more positive now. I’m not going back to med school because that will mean starting all over, I can’t continue from where I stopped. I’m thinking of going for microbiology because I have some knowledge on it from my 4th year in med school. I will not stress myself, I’ll just try my best and pray it works out. My father collected my credentials last night and said he will talk to the registration officer in our towns university. It’s good that the university is just 25 minutes from our house. I just hope I will be able to cope

Wow, seriously! How long were you away from school before you returned? Before I left school I had deferred the session 3 times, I would start a session but break down half way through. I still have my result from first year to fifth year, I can’t transfer from one med school to another here in my country. And I don’t know if I can go through the stress I went through before with my current illness. I will be content with what ever I study

I never finished in the end. Got to half way through fifth year. Like you Kept having to drop out of sessions. In the end the pressure was too much and I called it quits.

No. I have fully left now. Cognitive deficits make me unable to study.

I’m really sorry to hear that. What drugs are you on?i still have some cognitive deficit but the drugs I’m taking are helping. Our cognition may never be perfect or as it used to be prior to our illness but you can read paragraphs repeatedly to help remember thing. I really wish you the best

The fluoxetine should help with your depression and congnition a little. I’m also on fluoxetine it took 2-3months before I started seeing a positive effect.i hope your congnition gets better

I’ve always wanted to study biomedical science or pharmacy. But I don’t think I have what it takes for the long haul.

I believe anyone can study what they want to and dream of, it only depends on one’s health and motivation. Biomedical science sounds cool
