I’m really disappointed in my Pdoc

I’ve texted out to my pdoc on three different occasions for the same subject matter and I’m getting no responses from her. Zilch, nothing.
A week has passed and she still hasn’t responded.

I would call her but I’m pretty sure that she prefers to communicate via text.

What I’ve asked her are non medication related but still very important.

I’m very disappointed in her non actions.

Almost seems like she’s intentionally ignoring me.

Maybe she prefers you make an appointment

Maybe they don’t work on the weekend?

Edit: nevermind I see a week has passed

Yeah I see her in less than 3 weeks
I don’t know, maybe she has a good reason not to respond but I’ve been with her for many years.

Thanks @LilyoftheValley and @everhopeful

I mentioned the story about the woman who was catatonic for 20 years to my pdoc. They thought she was schizophrenic but it ended up being lupus. I told him I wouldn’t mind getting some blood work done to rule out anything like that. He said “do you think it’s anxiety telling you, you have lupus”. I said I don’t think I have lupus, I think i’m in hell and would like to make sure there’s nothing else we can do about it. He’s a good doctor but it really sucks that psychiatrists don’t know or don’t care about how acute the suffering can be with this illness. There was a post on here a while back about how doctors should have to experience psychosis so they can better treat patients. I kind of agree. If you gave a psychiatrist a bad trip and told them that’s similar to what your schizophrenic patients experience on a daily basis maybe they’d treat us with more urgency and compassion.

If she doesn’t respond, I’d ask her when you see if if she’s ok with you texting her questions.

You should probably call her if she continues to ignore you. :call_me_hand:

Ive never had a phone number for my psychiatrist. Can only talk during appointments. But yeah if they give you a number and say text me if you need, then id assume they would get back to you sooner or later. But who knows it could be any reason.

Yes, she’s usually really good about texting me back.
Maybe she’s too busy or didn’t even get my message.

I see her in about 2 weeks anyway, maybe I’ll wait for our next appointment to tell her.

Thanks @Ozzyskits

Not easy to respond to such issues on text or call. Better in person.

Pdoc’s can be a pain in the ass! Maybe find a new doc.

My pdoc never responds to emails. I can’t text her since she has a landline number.

But when I have an appointment she always starts with ‘I read your email’.

She reads it but only wants to discuss it during payed appointments.

Maybe your doc is similar.

No I’m not about to dump her over this.
She’s had my back many times before.
But thanks for your suggestion
