I lowered ablify to 5 mg

It’s the second day when I take 5mg, not 10 mg of ablify (I always took 10-15 mg) Feeling good.

Though my vraylar dose is at its highest (6 mg)

Overall I feel very good. Almost 0 symptoms. Maybe even 0

Yesterday I had written to my pdoc to ask if one day I could stop medication, and she wrote to me "after many months/years on vraylar, I think, we could stop medication "

I am so glad.

Schizophrenics usually need to stay on meds for their entire life.

I know this,
I just said what she said. She simply believes I have hope to quit meds.
Overall my psychosis was a lot drug induced

That is positive that she has the outlook to work with you to eventually come off medication

I am very glad for you. I wish you the best of luck with your lower dose and maybe even eventually getting off meds.

I’ve asked my doc about the possibility of doing a test run without meds. He thinks the odds that I will have mania are too high, so it isn’t a good option.

If it’s drug induced you might be able to come off if the doc believes so.

I took the meds for 10 years at around 10mg abilify then the docs thought was a great idea to take me off them because I didn’t experience any psychosis during that … Didn’t work.

I went from 1995 to 2012 with antidepressant and super low dose of antipsychotic perphenazine at only 8mg (normal dose was 24mg-30mg). Those years I was working full time going to school full time playing in two music bands and racing bicycles competitively and remote control cars competitively. I was also taking care of the house and my dog and my blind aunt and helping raise my nephew who had no father. My sister was moved in living with us with her dog. My dad went through colon cancer surgery and went through chemotherapy at the time and all was complete success. Very high stress and was some of the most impressive functioning since my diagnoses.

If my Psychiatrist told me it is ok to stop meds because I am stable for years or something I would stop meds because she is the Doctor. You would think that functioning should keep improving and internal suffering from positive or negative symptoms should not worsen. I also had problems with suicidal thoughts and feelings which would have to stay controlled. Making sure your not going backwards again into a state of confusion from symptoms would have to be always a priority. Having zero symptoms seems like the best place to start.
