Is there anybody who has stopped meds and does therapy or is symptom-less after tapering?
No. I’m on meds. Still have symptoms. Done therapy. Didn’t help much.
What therapy did you do?
And now are you on meds and have symptoms?
I was able to get on very little medication because of therapy.
Have you tried CBT?
No, is that the therapy you do?
How much med you use now? (Which med?)
I talked with a psychologist for over a year.
Yes. I’m on meds and still have symptoms.
Not anymore.
I did it when I was younger and it helped so much I don’t have to study it anymore.
It just works.
Abilify.
Thank you Jonathan for your reply… How long is it you are on meds since you started this time?
Thank you, is it 5 mg?
I’ve been taking meds non-stop for 11 years. I’ve tried lowering once but my symptoms got worse.
So, I’m on the max dose of Invega.
I also take an antidepressant which helps and clozapine as a sedative to help me sleep.
I’ll be real,
I don’t take it everyday.
I don’t know how much it evens out to, but very little I imagine.
OK and I hope things get better ![]()
Can you be specific about it, it’s very important for me. Because I may also want to lower my haldol, it’s now 0.5 but normally docs put you on that for ever… I was on abilify too and ended by 5 mg, can it go down too?
Are you lowering your medication by yourself or with your physician?
I probably take about 5-10mg of Abilify.
[quote="Ladouleur, posI am tapering, but was thinking what if it doesn’t work, I think if by lower dosages I hear voices they will increase it dramatically and again would lower, right? So I want to do it again I start it how much will I end up to so that I calculate about dopamine blockage amount and if still it would bother me? Because I never did less than 0.5… and 0.5 still blocks 40% of dopamine, did you know that?! I don’t know about abilify dosages though but I can figure out… ![]()
Does it hurt in anyway? any fatigue or any other med related side effects?
I am under supervision of a psychiatrist, but they don’t think for you. You should plan and they confirm!
Abilfy hasnt had any side effects for me. Its rather benign.
You completely correct
Abilify makes me extremely anxious and I suspect it made about 15-20% of my hair to fall out.
