I was about eight pounds over my ideal body weight. I creeped up there by not watching my weight on a scale. So, I started weighing myself and watching my calories more closely and the weight started falling off slowly. In two months time, I lost 8 lbs. I’m down to my ideal body weight now. Now, I’m going to be sure and weigh myself weekly and record my weight too. I also exercise everyday doing something that I love. My exercises of choice are: yoga, playing the piano, and taking the stairs in my apartment complex.
I’m on three different AP’s and I use the smartphone app www.MyFitnessPal.com to track my calories everyday. It really works.
Really good effort! It’s not easy on these meds and I tip my hat to you!
I’m doing heaps more exercise but need to do more when it comes to diet. It’s so hard to shift weight when your over 40! I’m not gaining…not losing and just maintaining! It’s good to hear people who are succeeding!
Congratulations to you! Losing weight demands persistence and patience.
I still try to start eating well and I fail. I haven’t weighted myself in month or more. I am sure I’ve gained more. Probably I am 100kg now But I am dealing with my new job now and I hope once I have more focus I will manage to lose this weight. I don’t know. My life is too unstable right now and I find comfort in food
One of my secrets is in my portion sizes. I only eat about a quarter of a cup of everything and about 4 oz. of meat at dinner. And a very small piece of dessert, about a half cup of dessert.
For instance, at a typical dinner, I have a small roll with only one pat of butter, a half cup of salad with only one tablespoon of creamy blue cheese dressing. A half cup of canned peaches. One cup of soup. For an entrée, I have 4 oz. of meat, a quarter cup of starch, and a quarter to half cup of veggies. And I have about 4 oz. of dessert. I eat nothing for lunch. And I eat one cup of cereal and one third cup of dry instant nonfat milk with water and two tablespoons of white sugar for breakfast. And I rarely to never eat anything between meals. I rarely to never drink any alcohol. I measure my serving sizes. I keep strict portion control and I record all of my food and portion sizes in a calorie counting app.
You need to do more than just exercise to lose weight. You need to reduce your calorie intake. I congratulate you for exercising a great deal that is very good, keep it up. That will help you in your efforts. But, try to reduce your calorie intake by recording your food in a calorie tracking app like www.MyFitnessPal.com This will help you to control your portion sizes and calories @rogueone.
I am overweight. I don’t try to lose weight and I am never going to. I think it is a losing battle. I eat when I feel hungry.
The most important thing I do is I don’t eat any junk food. Food which tastes too good I can’t stop eating and I will always eat too much. So I just eat sort of plain food which I won’t overeat. It still tastes good though.
