I keep having panic attacks

I don’t know why. But it’s this panic and dread that comes over me. It’s especially bad on days I work.

I work tonight and have had multiple panic attacks so far today.

I can’t take my hydroxyzine (Visteril) because I need to be alert to drive and work

Welcome to the club.

I had a panic attack myself today.

I need the 30th to come quick so I can start Escitalopram.

I hope you feel better.

practice slow breathing and try to ignore the fear associated with panic attacks…good luck.

Slow breathing makes me panic more @jukebox . I do other things like tension and release.

Sorry @TheCanuk . I know you really struggle with this

When I have anxiety I feel like I cant breathe

I have to practice breathing exercises in between calls at work. My job is stressful and has sent me into panic attacks before so I get it

I remember doing mindful meditation for anxiety and panic attacks.

They help.

My best advice, if you’re having a bad time, is just lie down and focus on your breathing. (If you’re able to).

I learned to put my hands on the thigh, feeling my hand on it.

Edit :

To feel good, to feel yourself, get a connection to your body

I am so sorry you are struggling with job anxiety. I struggled with severe job anxiety every single time I tried working.

That sucks @Vinegar . It’s really stupid things that I worry about.

The dumbest thing I get anxious about is we have very little money in our drawers. If someone wants to pay with $100 for a small order I don’t have change. So I have to call the manager, get her to break it, then finish the transaction. However, there’s always a long line of people frustrated about the wait time.

It’s lots of little things that upset me which is really stupid.

Then there’s the big things like creepy men saying inappropriate things to me that make me feel unsafe going to my car at night, and fights breaking out in the store.

@LilyoftheValley. Creepy men!!! No wonder you’re anxious. I get it, though, that you need the job so I just want to say you’re so strong for keeping going and not quitting.

Thanks @Vinegar . One guy wanted to know which vehicle in the parking lot was mine. When I didn’t answer he replied well there’s only 2 in the parking lot so I know it’s one of those 2. ummm… why does he need to know this?!?!

That is really scary!!! Do you have a coworker walk you to your car at night? That would make anyone paranoid :scream:

Usually. But if I get off before close I go out alone when it’s dark out which sucks

Have your cell phone on and be talking to your friend, spouse, family member while walking and pay attention to anyone near your car. If you are already on the phone you can tell a loved one something is not right - or just have someone pick you up if you can.

I can do that when I’m not working.

Some predators look for distracted women on cell phones because it’s harder to pay attention to your surroundings while preoccupied

Oh, yeah, I never thought of it that way. You are probably right @LilyoftheValley
