Which means I need to lose less weight than I thought. I’m 5’4 and a bmi of 30
so hit obese.
I want them to change the bmi scale it seems a slight bit harsh. People with bmi 18. 5 look so thin but are healthy and people with bmi 27 look fine but are at risk of disease. But idk maybe it’s right since they are the experts.
I’m bmi 30 too
I’ve shrunk a little. I was 5’6” and now I’m 5’5 1/2”. Not good. I must slouch too much. Don’t want to say my bmi
The BMI wasn’t made by doctors. It was made by insurance companies. It’s rarely accurate. It fails to take into account different races having different builds, and fails to take into account that BMI naturally increases as you age and a healthy weight is higher for a 30 year old than a 20 year old of the same height.
What’s really important is your blood pressure, heart rate, cholesterol, blood glucose levels, and those things.
My doctor tells me not to get hung up on weight. When I’m at what the BMI chart says is healthy for me, my blood pressure is too low and I pass out. When I’m heavier, my blood pressure is more stable.
