I just quit my seroquel to study better

I just decided to quit cold turkey because I have bee zoning out while watching YouTube and studying less. Plus when I wake up I still feel very sleepy and dose off instead of studying. I feel lazy and overwhelmed. My mind is on an impossible mission but even I believe that I can do the impossible. I can’t wait to say mission complete when I’m done with my exams. Let me see how I can perform without meds. I will get back on meds as soon as I think it necessary and also when I finish my exams.

Quitting seroquel cold turkey is very dangerous. You could go bananas. It has a very short half life.

Not a good idea. I went down in grades when i quit my antipsychotics. I did it two years in a row. Both years dropped me from a first year high of 60 to 70 percent all the way down to 40 to 50 percent. I really dont recommend doing it my friend

I recommend that you take it again and tell your psychiatrist that it is difficult for you to study so he can give you a lower dose.

You’re taking a gamble for sure. Not one I would like to take.

I get the difficulty, I really do. Quitting cold turkey is just plain risky.

That is what happens when I go off my med’s. I’ve gotten mixed results as far as studying goes when I’m off my med’s, but I’m still seduced by the urge that maybe I will be more creative when I am off my med’s. In my case, I get in trouble when I go off the med’s. I’m lucky that things didn’t turn out as bad as they could have.

Not a wise idea to quit cold turkey without weaning off them under some sort of supervision
You can relapse
Just my opinions

The problem is you probably won’t recognize when it’s necessary. You will most likely suffer from lack of insight

I quit Seroquel cold turkey 5 years ago and still remember the rebound psychosis that happened…I thought the police were after me and that there were doctors behind the walls talking about me dying and using nanobots to monitor my vital signs. In other words, I lost my shiite. You are playing with fire. Please don’t go off your meds without your pdocs approval!

That’s the worst idea.

I was on Ativan and Seroquel 25mg as sleep aid. For anxiety. I quit cold turkey. My psychiatrist said I could use it if I needed it. And stop if I didn’t. He didnt tell me about withdrawals and tapering.

That lead to my first psychosis (combined with a stressful situation). I had quite a few relapses after because people told me to quit cold turkey. And I did.

Your exams will not go well, if you are in rebound psychosis. APs need tapering.

At least don’t stop completely.

I agree with all the other members here on this forum quitting is not the solution to the problem.
Yes. The Quiel may contribute to some cognitive problems like memory problems and lack of focus.
But on the other side. Going of meds may on the other hand cost your good reputation.
Are you willing to pay with your image ???

How far away is the exam?

I quickly tapered down on my Risperdal in 2016 and completely lost my mind.

Quitting any AP cold turkey is asking for trouble.

It’s downright dangerous.

If I were you I would contact your doctor immediately

This is is an advice to save you from totally disaster if you’re so stubborn that you won’t listen. If the choice stand between lowering your dose with max 1/4 or quitting then lowering is the best. Going off meds it simply not the solution.

Don’t stop your medications without doctor supervision. It’s dangerous. We just don’t support those kind of actions here.
