I just easily convinced chatgbt i didnt have schizophrenia

I tried the 7 cups ai therapist. I told it about me believing im being abused and stalked and it responded like it actually belived me and basically gave me advice on how to cope with bullying

Chat gpt to me is essentially a people pleaser. It gives duplicate answers to questions. On controversial issues you can’t be neutral. You have to make a choice between 2 extremes you can’t say middle of the road. Too many times it gives middle of the road answers. It fails too many times to take a definitive stance with it’s incessant need to not offend.

It probably knows you were trying to trick it lol, i will go with what the rest say and that’s to be honest and if you don’t like what it says then definitely go to the human dr, maybe even ask what your dr thinks about ai as well.

I think its greatest flaw is that its not as responsive as a human. no body language, no heart/soul, no feelings, real dr’s use observation skills a lot

It cant ā€œknowā€ im tryint to trick it. It is not a human.

Its understood you can trick it and its falliable.

My experience with it is it’s pretty good, and people who will be convinced they dont have schizophrenia by talking to an ai are probably lacking insight or would find some way of rationalizing their way out of their diagnosis/ symptoms.

it probably gets people like you trying to trick it all the time, maybe it knows more than you think even if it is just a bunch of code

If a forum member was feeding into someones delusions here theyd get a suspension

It’s 1000x better than google.

Yes, it should be squelched when it happens, but the reason it happens is because some people are difficult to change their mind from the delusional belief no matter who tells them. Anyone who manipulates ai into reinforcing their delusion already made up their mind, they just want reassurance and get people etc on their side

what would u say the solution is? schizophrenics are banned from using chat gpt? an automated message to everything that sounds weird that says ā€œnotify a doctorā€?

I’m just glad there is really no stopping it. I find it incredibly helpful with everything and it’s just the beginning. It’s only going to get better.

I think chatgbt should recognize when its out of ts league and stop giving ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  answers

Do the makers of Chat GPT claim that its answers to medical questions should be used as professional advice?

I think Anti-Psychiatry is banned here, i think the medical lingo is all wrong, I’m so glad Ai doesn’t use medical jargon liked they do, in that respect i’d say AI is more human but without an actual brain lol

So you tricked ChatGPT. So what? What does that prove except It’s not hard to fool it if you’re just making stuff up? I could probably convince it I don’t have diabetes if I make stuff up and ask it leading questions. So you convinced it you don’t have schizophrenia, so what? Anybody could convince it they don’t have schizophrenia if you ask the right questions and give it certain information or omit certain information. You could also convince it that you do have schizophrenia it all depends on what you ask it, I could probably convince ChatGPT that I’m the president of the United States if I ask the right questions. Just because you can fool it doesn’t mean it’s not helpful in some cases. I’ll admit it has some bugs in the system but I don’t think the creators of it guarantee you’ll always get perfect answers.

I asked chatGPT this:

Are you a good therapist or do you have some problems?

ChatGPT said:

That’s a fair question! I’m not a therapist, but I can offer support, listen without judgment, and provide evidence-based suggestions for mental health topics. That said, I’m not a substitute for a real therapist — I don’t have feelings, lived experience, or a clinical license. And I definitely have limitations:

  • I don’t always fully understand emotional nuance.
  • I might give general advice that doesn’t perfectly fit your situation.
  • I don’t know your full history or context unless you tell me.

If you’re facing something serious, it’s always best to talk to a qualified human professional. But if you just need someone to talk things through with, I’m here. Want to try me out?

My point is that we schizophrenics tend to be vulnerable and chatGBT should not be used as a therapy tool as many do.

Thats my only concern

I don’t use chat gpt at all, no connection whatsoever with my illness. It is simply a compilation of existing human knowledge which I can already freely access elsewhere. I don’t trust its reasoning ability.

I don’t use ChatGPT for therapy but considering how shitty most therapists are I’m not surprised that there are some people turning to AI Chat engines for therapy
I find Chat GPT to be informative and helpful most of the times but sometimes it’s off the mark.
It will improve over time, it’s still in its infancy
