I hope this doesn't get locked or removed, but I'll give it a try

Here in eastern Iowa, the closer you get to Chicago, the more liberal it becomes.

the western part of the state, different story, even going into Omaha.

We went on vacation to Omaha, and walked the avenues
and saw a man dumpster diving, and police officer coming after him

and also a long line where people could get free pizza
but only on the condition that they pray with them and praise Jesus.

then there were looks I got over my son and his quirks. Still it’s a lovely city
and we loved the zoo there. one of the best.

If I wasn’t so sick, I would move in a heart beat to a very conservative state like Idaho, Kansas, or Kentucky. I’m stuck in California and probably will stay here my whole life with some of my family members. I could literally live like a king in some of those states.

I think Kansas is home to Westboro Baptist church

those are some pretty demented people.

Well, Clark Kent (Superman) was from there too.

We’re also losing a lot of people

there’s a big push right now to get our numbers up

I bet it’s a lot of young people too that are leaving.

I just looked up houses in Iowa. Pretty affordable. I don’t know much about Iowa or good cities to retire/live. Here in California, the average house price is like at least $500k for a new house. it looks like ■■■■ (a giant stucco box with little to no property). You can literally touch your next door neighbor’s house if you spread your arms out. It sucks.

500k here gets you a really nice home around here. it’s just a short drive to the city if that’s your thing so it’s not like your in the middle of nowhere.

mom and dad just had a house built. it’s 4br 4ba with 4 acres and river views. right by the water with a little beach. it appraised at 300k. there are some downsides but I prefer it here.

I was in Iowa recently. I didn’t know that. It does seem kind of conservative out west.

Yeah you could get a nice place with some land for 500,000 here as well. I’ve never been to Iowa though.

I could get an okay place here for $500k. Townhouses run $300k and up, so I’d probably stick to one of those.

my post got blocked but it was because I talked about religion. I don’t see why yours would be blocked I mean your only talking about government right. I feel like they might have gotten to stricted with the rules to us people.

I didn’t read your post, so I don’t know what direction the responses went in.

I think this one turned out to be okay.

Religion can be seen as a delusion, so I guess that’s why the rules on it.
