Who lives longer? A sz on meds or off meds. Can you die of schizophrenia? From too much paranoia…like your brain stop functioning or similar

For me definitely off meds I will live much much longer.

An Sz off meds have a higher risk of dying from suicide or putting themselves in risky situations due to psychosis.

Usually people on meds live longer also because untreated psychosis will damage the brain and they will get in a pseudo-dementia state early.

this is precisely right. your brain will destroy itself and you will have a much harder time functioning later in life, is usually the case.

good question. what gets you the side effects or the stress from paranoia? I’m really not sure. maybe there is research on it, both can be bad.
