I’m not a fiction guy anymore, I used to be into fantasy books like from authors Terry Brooks or Robert Jordan and even Terry Goodkind but not anymore. I like reading spiritual stuff now that Im older maybe because my death is getting closer now and I have less time ahead of me than behind me.
For reading, no fiction at all but almost exclusively academic stuff and some news websites. As for tv/films, I watch current affairs but never watch documentaries but mainly fiction, mostly even pretty basic superficial stuff like romcoms. And then for listening it is longform interviews again.
The best fictional works connect to a very real and human experience. Many of my favorite books, movies and series are fiction. Though not true events, the heart of it is something I can relate to. The characters and scenarios can mirror our lives even more strongly than non fiction.
Fiction is great, but i am not a fan of superhero movies…
The urge and desire to have super abilities which is who the producers appeal to, is redundant to me. Bothering to stretch my imagination to such capabilities is silly to me.
I used to read fiction a lot more and enjoy it when I do but I struggle to make time for it now. Film wise I like good science fiction but have never get into action / Marvel etc. I would rather watch something about real people with real things that could happen rather than anyone with superpowers.
