I have a test tomorrow and I'm freaking out

It’s an anatomy test, if I have a good grade on this test and on another one in January I don’t need to go and have the exam, and I pass the subject. If I fail this test I have to go to the exam. The exam is ten times harder.

I’ve been studying a lot but now I’m reviewing and I don’t know ■■■■. So I feel like I’m not studying enough, although I’ve been studying almost everyday.

I feel like I’ve been wasting to much time on other things and that I wont make it and stress me out until I relapse from the stress.
I’m freaking out. Major anxiety, already took a benzo.

Any advices?

@mortimermouse what do you do when this happens, if this happens?

I have some advice… first of all don’t skip the test. Even if you think you will fail. The test could be easier than you expect. I never showed up for my anatomy exam because I was sure I would fail, but so were many of my classmates who passed. Second, stop studying early the day before the test or preferably don’t study at all today. Makes it easier to recollect relevant information, provided you have studied the subject for a while. Also makes it easier to sleep, which is important. Consider going to bed early.

Good luck! Try not to worry. If you fail the test you can study harder for the exam.

What I do is just do the best I can. I learn and read material out loud to myself and also ask myself questions by flipping to a random page. Also, just doing what you can is the best way to relieve the anxiety. Meds help too.

Be confident and quit saying you don’t know ■■■■. You do know your ■■■■!

Thanks @anon9798425, I won’t skip it for sure, can’t do that. At least I’m going to give it a shot. Might pass who knows, people from other years say this one is easy. I’m just going to finish reviewing it and then I’m going to let it go and hope for the best.

Thanks @mortimermouse, I know this ■■■■! That’s what I do too. I should’ve studied more for this, that’s for sure.

The benzo kicked in, I’m much calmer now.

I wish I could take benzo’s…darnit…anyways, I hope your test goes fine. School always stressed me way out too.

Thanks @jukebox, my pdoc was relunctant in prescribing them to me given my history with addiction, glad she did though

Sounds like too much attachment to the outcome > projections of the worst.

The great psychotherapist Stan Block (in San Francisco) says it all about “requirements” leading to negative expectations. His solution?

catastrophic thinking. I’m aware. Trying to mellow it right now.

Rest between studying too honey. I think you’ll realize you’re knowledgeable when the actual test comes. Kick its butt !!!
