I plan to cook enough food for 30 days or more! I’m really excited for this! I prepared myself mentally I think… I hope… I know this will be a long day but it will save me a lot of money, help with proportion size, and be healthy food that is according to my diet!
What’s on the menu
Shepard’s pie (layer of ground beef, corn, homonym, cauliflower, bacon, mashed potatoes (from a box), and, cheese)
Meat loaf (ground beef, gluten free bread, eggs, and maybe southwest chipotle seasoning)
Chicken (still haven’t decided how I’m gonna make that)
And MAYBE 2 pork chops (not sure, ideas would be appreciated)
woah nice i used to do this back in the day (cook for a few days at once) and it was great. i always had food ready to go and packed and i never had to rush around to find a lunch for work. its a good way to keep track of your food
That’s a really good idea @Twialine. I love cooking but hate the clean up. Good luck.
Wow for thirty day??? Would it be fresh still??
@Abise that’s what freezing is for!
Things won’t go bad in the freezer. But anything that sits in the freezer too long gets gross IMO
I have like 1.5 pounds of salmon that’s been in the freezer for like 6 months and it’s gross and needs to be thrown out.
@anon99082702 My mom told me that after 6 months things get freezer burnt that’s why I’m only cooking for a month at a time I should have it gone by one month or a month and a half!
I have 5lbs of meat loaf in the oven! That’s 20 meals! I only need 10 meals mainly because I drink protein shakes in the morning! I plan on making 3lbs of meat for shepherd’s pie (12) servings (32 servings in all) 3 servings of chicken just to mix it up a bit (35 meals in all!) and two big bags of veggies as sides! I’m so excited! To make all of this and start eating my food!
@Loke I’m sure you’d be proud of me!
For what? For cooking? Yeah I’m proud.
@Loke mainly for cooking so much in one day!
@Twialine good job girl. I think you have been doing such an excellent job of getting organized lately.
@Leaf thank you so much! I’m really proud of myself today
good job! i think thats a great idea, especially get things done while you feel good in case you have a set back you still have good food that you only have to heat up. smart
Thank you @Owl82 ! I’m actually having fun! The meatloaf is almost done believe it or not! I thought this would take a lot longer than it is!
i love meatloaf its a good comfort food especially with mashed potatoes. hope yours turns out good i bet it will
Thanks @Owl82 I hope it is yummy!
I got chicken, meat loaf, and some veggies done so far! Now I just got shepherd’s pie, and more veggies to do… I am taking a small break! I’m a little tired
Sounds great @Twialine!
