I wanted to go for a walk so I put on my winter clothes and went outside to walk and the whole freakin’ sidewalk was icy almost everywhere the whole way I walked! I need the exercise but I’ll just have to walk in my apartment until May when the snow melts because I kept slipping on the ice and I don’t want to fall on my ass and bust my ass! FML!

Us Minnesotans have to relearn how to walk every winter.
Wish it would snow so I can go cross country skiing at least once this year.

I used to live in southern California too. San Diego. Where and when did you live?
Orange 2006-2007, downtown LA 2010 then 2013-2014.
The good news is that the days are getting longer.
Soon it will be March.
February is also brighter than January.

I just walked to the store. Luckily it’s only a block. But there are icy patches and a lot of snow. Not as bad as it could be. I just hate walking along and hitting a sneaky ice patch.
I slipped and fell down a hill behind the store last winter.

Here’s some of my winter walking kit:
Between the cleats and the metal tipped walking sticks I fairly cruise over ice. The goggles and good winter clothing keep the wind chill from harming me. I have no problem getting in 25,000 steps in -30C conditions now.

I am starting to hate our winter as its too long, at first its cool. Its -25C tonight and -21C tomorrow morning.
As you can see, freezing exposed skin isn’t a worry if you dress for the weather. Dress right and you can play outside comfortably for an entire day in extreme cold.

I sincerely hate winter too. The danish winter is incredibly dark and wet.
If i got money and if im in a good period, depression wise. I travel to one of the small canary islands, La Gomera or La Palma. It’s warm, friendly and not flooded with tourists.
Next december i will go again. I hope.
