It is a good lesson, though. People can be friendly, charismatic, and still do terrible things on purpose. The pain and betrayal we feel when our former role models go down a dark path is a reminder that the people who do terrible things are indeed people. Nobody is just good or just bad. People make choices and some people choose to hurt others.

I stop admiring and enjoying their work once I know they have abused their power.

Was a big fan of Kevin Spacey.

Idk if I believe he did anything wrong. If he did that doesn’t keep me from watching the Cosby Show. Does that make me a bad person?

No - we you are able separate his work/art from the person.

I heard people say the same thing about Michael Jackson - they still listen to his music - while others cant.

In the UK there was Jimmy Saville.

On the other side of the spectrum George Floyd was a total trouble maker yet he is now idolized. He should not have died though. It is amazing how people latch onto and revere other people.

Having too much money sure seems to bring out a person’s dark side.

Way too much or way too little. Tempted to do a Biblical reference here; but, yeah, that’s been observed since ancient times.

Tru dat. And those cops who killed him were punished though.

I don’t know Cosby. I can’t make a judgement of whether he did it or not. I still watch the Cosby Show. Maybe I should not. Idk. I mean I think Tom Cruise is a jerk so I don’t watch his movies if I can help it so….

Well, he did do some good things. His Fat Albert show was very educational and helped a lot of kids back in the day.

I have dreams of being raped so i dont like bill cosby

That’s really sad :pensive:

On the other hand, a person can be taciturn and angry looking, and when you get to know them they have a wealth of interesting things to talk about, and they are very generous with their time and their money.

Bill Cosby once had the title of “America’s Dad”. That just goes to show how wrong you can be about a person. It sort of makes you doubt everything he said.
