I find it amusing when people yell

I have a very hard time not smiling, or at least smirking, when someone starts yelling at me . I just can’t help but find it amusing. It’s amazing that I’ve never been punched by any of these guys. They don’t necessarily have to be yelling at me in particular for me to find it funny. I’m not normally one to laugh out loud at anything, but one time my fourth year of college I just suddenly busted out laughing at one of my roommates who was yelling. Oh did he get mad when I did that lol .

My dad was a big yeller, so I learned a long time ago not to take people seriously when they are yelling. Besides, raising the volume of your voice does not make your point any more valid, so there is no good reason to do it, other than you can’t control your anger better than that.

Does anyone else have a hard time not cracking a smile when people are yelling at you?

My dad is a yeller. It bothered me as a kid but I’m used to it now. He also complains a lot.

My sons stepmom is a mean person. She yells really loud She’s intimidating

I love confrontation,

So if someone is brave enough to step to the plate, I’m already beaming.

Just the thought of someone yelling at me or trying to fight makes me smile right now as I’m typing this.

I’m such a sicko…

Confrontation sometimes makes me uncomfortable, but the whole yelling thing is just funny to me. Part of what makes it so funny is that as the volume of a person’s voice goes up, you can actually watch their intelligence level go down. That makes it easy to win an argument if you’re able to keep your cool.

I don’t remember ever yelling. I try to be as quiet as possible.

Excellent and very true observation!

I think this is why I enjoy confrontation so much,

You can see, in real time, someone lose their brain.

Gods, I love people sometimes!

Yes I do sometimes laugh about it the absurdity of it all when people lose it and when I start laughing they often join in. It’s like we both start lightening up.

I have thick facial hair so I always have a 5 o’clock shadow. When I was in the Army the drill sergeants would always call me “a ■■■■■■■ Chia Pet” when they screamed at me and I could never ever take them seriously :joy:

For reference, this is what they were calling me as they were hurling death threats lol

My father is a grumpy old geezer who likes to yell at me especially as he’s getting older.
I crack up most of the time :joy:

I raise my voice when I feel unheard/disrespected/ignored. I don’t say mean things or cuss, I just say what I want to be heard. Sometimes I just repeat what I had said, and sometimes I do actually say something clever, along with being loud…
My husband has helped me to yell less because he hates it and absolutely shuts down if I yell. So I only yell now if I’m very very frustrated.

DAMN!!!WHERE’S THE DAMN REMOTE FOR THE TV?? Now I’m calm.

I don’t. I find it scary. My dad used to yell a lot when he was mad. And that usually meant beatings for me and my sister.

I don’t smile or anything but find it kind of amusing. My first day in boot camp . The drill instructor noticed I found it amusing that another recruit Was in tears because he was being yelled at. So after he found I wasn’t intimidated by his yelling. A foot landed on my chest and I flew backwards over my foot locker. Got a new respect for their language.
