I feel terrible

I signed for a master’s program. Tomorrow I’m flying out of the country, leaving my 84 y.o. dad alone.

I rushed it and I completely regret doing this. I should stay with my dad.

Will come back every one and a half month for a week, more or less.

Feeling terrible right now. Like a complete failure as a person and a terrible son. Words don’t mean anything without actions.

I’m extremely sad. He gave me everything and I wouldn’t be where I am today without him.

Feeling like I have failed him big time.

The master’s degree is completely unnecesary. I don’t even want to do it.

Have you talked with your dad about this? Can you cancel the classes?

Yeah, he is a bit sad today. But he says he wants the best for me.

I cannot cancel anything now. Unfortunately. Not the rent or even the tuition fees.

Damn bro…

Well make the best of it if you can’t cancel. Maybe you guys could do video chat and phone calls?

Just don’t forget about him bro… Seriously…it WILL be ok man

That’s what Ima do… thanks! Make the best of it.

We will be skype calling everyday. I hope he will be alright for when I come home. I would never forget about him. If something happens to him I’m catching the next plane home and staying here.

Appreciated @signless . Maybe this is not that bad idk. My dad is healthy and does a lot of stuff alone without problem.

Good luck with your studies.

I’m curious what you will study but you probably don’t want to share.
