Is it good or should I switch meds?
Antipsychotics make most people tired. No. Not a reason to switch meds.
I found that I went from sleeping 10 hours a day to 8 or less simply from adding decent exercise. Your young. Good time to start and if you’ve spare time it’s a good idea simply for physical health.
Sedation is manageable. You can learn to push past it and be productive.
If you positives have reduced then stick with it until they are more or less gone, then find something less sedating.
I don’t have positives anymore
Same thing happened to me on 15 mg olanzapine. I felt better every month for six months. Eventually I changed meds to something less sedating. The olanzapine did the heavy lifting though.
Sounds like a winner. Most have only made positives manageable.
While at it being heavily sedating too.
You get used to the sedation.
Something weird happened to me when I took Seroquel. I was so incredibly sensitive to it, it kept me in bed all day. I wasn’t even sleeping all that time, I was high. Antipsychotic medications have only given me that high but with two types: the Seroquel, and the zyprexa at a high dose. With the zyprexa I would feel it right as I drifted off to sleep. You can’t do that for your entire life, it doesn’t work, you get sicker.
That’s not necessarily true. There are a number of antipsychotics that don’t produce sedation, and if the sedation is intolerable/unacceptable, you should consider a switch, although you may have to weigh advantages against disadvantages, as there are sometimes other, good things about a medication.
Yes, if you have sufficient determination / will power.

If its bad than yes. I got fed up with being on seroquel. I felt like it was impairing my thinking and making communication more difficult.
If its blocking your symptoms id say stick with it. I felt sedated for a long time but got used to it. Im pretty lazy still but i dont sleep 18 hours a day anymore.
