Feeling fatigue on zyprexa. AP’s are chemicals, poison. But that’s the only thing they have for psychosis.

I definitely have had fatigue since starting Clozaril 10-11 years ago

When I was at my highest dose I could almost sleep the day away

Lots of negative symptoms though came with it

I’ve had fatigue once in a while. I take benztropine so that helps.

I am trying to reduce the amount I sleep every night, ideally to about 10 hours a night. During the day I find myself yawning like crazy and I am constantly telling my mom how tired I am.

Right now I drink 1-2 cups of coffee every day for alertness and take l-theanine every night but am planning on increasing my ltheanine, this is suppose to help with quality of sleep which may in turn help me get a better nights rest and not feel so tired during the day.

Yeah some of the answer from there is similar to what a psychiatrist told me about ‘activating’ vs ‘sedating’ antipsychotics. He said quetiapine is a sedating one. that’s why I’m sleepy on it.

I feel the same on and off APs lol I stopped meds for a month before nothing different. I stopped for 2yrs before but got psychotic and all I was doing was walking in the street, talking to strangers and eating at restaurants.

Well fatigues is the reason for me going off qutiapine so now I’m down to 300 mgs a day. I’m going to stay on my long acting injection and two anticolinergic pills for side effects.
Those toxic drugs really make you feel very very stupid.

I’m going to bed earlier and getting up later lately. Mostly because Sam want’s to go to bed after my pill alarm goes off at night. I find I take around 2 hours of naps throughout the day on average. I don’t mind it so much anymore, I’ve learned to go with the flow.

It’s mainly histamine and dopamine. Antipsychotics which hit H2 are the most sedating. Dopamine blockers are a standard feature of all Antipsychotics. High 5htps to d2 ratio is behind the efficiency of clozapine.

A lot of the sedation effects apart from h2 aren’t so much bugs of the medication as they are desirable features

What do you mean?

Is there anyone who doesn’t feel fatigued on APs?

Sedation is a desirable feature in many medication as the medications would not work without making us sedated. It’s not necessarily off target effect.

I.e. How can you have a non sedating medication that that also alters dopamine? You can’t

Well I hate sedation so it’s not desirable to Me but I understand your point

My current low dose of Vraylar isn’t fatiguing, my problem is the negative symptoms that continue to weigh me down 24/7. They’re awful and appear to be with me for life. I just have to keep pushing past them.
