Does anyone else feel the same way? I am all day on the internet, see other people who would like to work, people who manipulate speech very well and I feel like I 'm not good at anything especially things that require mental abilities and I want to rest all day!! I 'm also on Risperdone and want to eat all day because I take 10mg!! I feel inadequate and a loser but cannot do anything to change it!! I have total lack of motivation!!!
I seem to take all day to do not much of anything.
Hate this.
When I think back prior to Dx Sz, I can’t imagine how in the world I worked full time + overtime, cleaned the entire house myself, cooked the meals, ran all the errands, paid all the bills, and somehow, found time to enjoy my one day off a week.
Makes me wonder where that person went, and how to get her back.
I’ve just been out for a drive and 10 min walk
I HAD to get away from four walls
Is there any where u can go just sit on a bench
i was the same when i took 8mg of risperidone and i didn’t know if it was side effects of meds or symptoms of my sz or what but i eventually switched meds and felt less of a zombie,
have you spoken to your doctor about this? i remember telling my doctors constantly and they didn’t take me seriously, didn’t do anything, so i decided i needed to take something else.
@Csummers I understand you. I haven’t ever felt like you before, that I could be capable of everything, because I have had the illness from childhood, and I remember myself trying to concentrate on history for school for four hours and couldn’t understand anything.
@shellys12 I don’t feel like going out alone, but today at least one of my few friends arrived in my city and
I will go out with her.
@daydreamer no other medicine works for me unfortunately. Thanks for caring though.
I wish you all the best.
Have you ever tried Geodon. Its slightly better then respordal as far as energy.
Also as far as the eating goes get yourself some fruit you like and a big bin of greens. Don’t worry about what kind of dressing you get. Poor it on.
I tried to follow a super model diet and its impossible on the meds. Once you have more energy start walking 10 minutes a day. Build up to walking an hour a day then add a different type of exercise with that. I just lost 100 pounds and am still losing. Give yourself a real decadent hearty meal once a day that you like and can can look forward too. It will help you sleep.
Also get your doctor to lower you on as low of meds as you can go. Tell them all the healthy things your doing and tell them your goal. Make them small and realistic. Doctors love that crap.
Dear @lagoonlovely, thank you for your answer! I have tried Geodon and it worked for me I think, but suddenly I got allergic to it and I changed it!! About exercise, you are right, but I hate it! However, when I see people here support me, I am a little bit better. If you want my advice, try to eat about 1400 calories per day, because if you do model diets you will be tired soon,
@daydreamer how long have you been stable on your medication regime?
since 2010 i think
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve never been capable of getting everything thing done, I was just forced into that situation, and guess I did it (for about 7 years) only because I didn’t second guess myself every minute of the day.
I have been this way my entire life, and can appear quite normal, although it’s getting much harder to hide it as I get older, and I just can’t understand why My thoughts are considered delusional, when they aren’t a product of my imagination.
Getting old stinks physically, and I just don’t have any energy to do much anymore, and the sad thing is, I don’t care enough to try to see a dr anymore since they poo-poo anything I complain about after they read my Sz label.
Firstly meds are supposed to make you MORE functional NOT less.
And I can totally relate with the delusions being real as my delusion is the world is ending because the moral structure of humanity as a whole has collapsed so God wants to end it and possibly start over.
I also think I may be a inlet of some kind and God see’s through my eyes the state that humanity is in so…ya know…obviously im nuts but check the news out.
More diseases are afflicting us everyday the flu epidemic is killing children also there is now a measles thing going on that is also effecting children maybe he’s bring the children to Heaven befor the REALLY bad stuff begins.
I forgot to mention that excersise is the natural way of expelling the back up of negative chemicals in the brain that cause these negative feelings.
If you’ve eaten the calories to perform excersise then its just your mind holding you back FORCE YOURSELF to do it.
Body squats are a great form as almost anybody can do them anywhere.
Do 20 slow and easy then do that 4 more times .
I GUARANTEE you will feel better after and once you get acclimated to that you can add more excersises.
That will take less than 15 min.
And excersise doesn’t only assist the brain chemistry physically but mentally also.
Just because this disorder has you caged like a animal that doesn’t mean that you can’t achieve accomplishments.
Once you get into the routine you will realize that you are bettering yourself and that feeling feeling of accomplishment every day will dispel the feeling of stasis where you relate to a truck spinning its wheels in a hole not going anywhere.
You just have to FORCE YOURSELF and you will not regret it.
Unfortunately smoking cigarettes is a comfort to us I smoke 3-4 a day and thats a lot for me it also inhibits oxygen uptake which also is detrimental to the brain.
So cut down on cigarettes stick to a basic manageable workout routine and you will have that sense of accomplishment without the anxiety of interacting with anybody.also a diet high in fat and preservatives screws with the brain too.
Thank you both for your answers, @Csummers sorry that I “misunderstood” your words and sorry to hear about your problems, hopefor you to be better soon.
Dear @petester, I 'll try to do what you said, thanks again.
I can totally relate. I pretty much do nothing all day long. I’m hoping to get busy writing.
