I have taken it upon myself to work out a new medicine regime, as the treatment team seem to think that mental health problems also go away when they’re celebrating Christmas.
Changes are:
Aripiprazole 5mg gone
Diazepam up to 20mg down to 5mg
Procyclidine down from 10mg to 5mg
Pregabalin halving dose from 300mg to 150mg with a view to stopping.
This has been state of play for a week now.
The Abilify like I told them in the first place is just making me psychotic - even so at 5mg, but not as bad as 30mg when they had to put me in hospital.
I cannot wait for pdoc approval on the 27th January.
I take 800mg Amisulpride for my main AP. The 5mg of Abilify is to control prolactin, but when I got tested it was even higher than before I started
Read online that even a small dose of Abilify can cause psychosis in some people. When they tried me on 30mg a few years ago, it made me so psychotic I had to be admitted.
Occasionally my moods get a little low but I still don’t want to go on a mood stabilizer.
I’ve had enough of taking multiple medications.
Risperdal is enough for now.
I think it’s good that you have made some observations in yourself about your medication. It means you are trying to stay in touch with your inner self and your body to find out what works for you.
I hope you will be able to work out the path forward with your doctor.
