Currently I’m on 15 mg Abilify, but I want to reduce it in accordance with my pdoc. Does anyone have experience with that?
I was on Abilify for a while, but they eventually took me off it because it got me too hyped up. I felt a little more serene when I was off it. Abilify wasn’t hard for me to come off.
Do you want to reduce the meds to eventually get off of them completely? or you just want to be on a lower dose?
I plan on asking my pdoc to reduce my Risperdal dose down to 2 mg from 2.5 mg - I will see what she says
In the long run I want to get completely off the meds, but that will take a while since I don’t want to risk another psychotic episode by abruptly withdrawing from the meds.
I am also on 15mg Aripiprazole(generic brand), but have no experience to discontinue it.
Quitting abruptly might make you psychotic. I have 20 mg. I see a differance in my thoughts and voices after lunch when I forget to take it one morning.
Yeah, of course, I won’t quit abruptly, that’s just too risky. I was on 10 mg before and don’t really think it was necessary to raise the dose. So I have to convince my pdoc to decrease it again. Hope it will work
