I decided to lose some weight

Once again I am close to going past 100kgs like I was once in the past. I am male 5’11.

Anyways a few days ago I started. I think the main thing in my case is to cope with being hungry without eating between meals. That’s half the battle and then excersise, eat healthy and eat well thought out portions.

I’m allowing myself a little dark chocolate(70% cocoa) when the hunger is rough, but I guess that’s ok as long as you don’t do what the body wants you to, eat until the hunger goes all away.

It will be interesting to see the progress. I weighed in at 98kgs friday evening, I will see next friday how I am doing.

Good luck with it

Oatmeal and salad with chicken have helped me tremendously on feeling full.

My brain and my tummy constantly argue about my diet. Usually my tummy wins. Good luck on your journey though. It’s hard work.

Yeah :slightly_smiling_face:, I often use oatmeal, and I’m having salad for supper today. They say salad is good for sleep too!

Oh really wow I never knew that. Yea especially if you use light Italian dressing. I was full on salad and still losing alot each day. Literally was not hungry at all.

It’s getting to be a lot to go and buy salad every day so I’m trying to go with oats more which have worked for me in the past too

Got any tips?

Absolutely. I have peen putting it off for a real long time, then suddenly I realize that a lot of the things I’m buying to eat is just plain unhealthy, like snacks and icecream. I never heard of the icecream diet  anyways, I’m careful about what I bring home from the store now.

Yeah, if you can avoid buying it in the first place, then you aren’t tempted to eat it when you get home. Ice cream diets are legit amazing. There’s a different ice cream flavor for every day of the year. Who doesn’t like that. Lol

I think downsizing portions is a big factor, gradually though, or else you crack.

Eating whole foods and unprocessed as much as possible. But allowing yourself something you really want oncev in a while. Like eating pizza once a week is ok. I think it’s easier to stay faithful to the diet if you don’t follow it too rigidly.

I’ve learned that you can have nice eats sometimes in controlled portions. Yeah, it’s great to have treats here and there, just not all the time. Allow yourself little pleasures here and there, otherwise it’s painful and very restrictive.

There’s this thing called the circle diet. One of the principles is that you choose foods that are medium tastiness. It allows for treats but say instead of having ice cream for a treat which is 10/10 tastiness…or eating plain lettuce which is 0/10… We should choose something in between like say a mango.

I personally think it’s a good idea and try to implement it when I choose cheat meals…I try anyways, don’t always win lol

There is a lot of psychology in it. Today I had salmon with fries and veggies for dinner. To me that tasted great, so why not perceive it as a snack right?

I like that medium idea. I can have smoothies as snacks, they come in a lot of varieties too. I’m already drinking one a day, but yes, I guess it can be a snack if you train the mind to think about it that way :slightly_smiling_face:

All the best. Losing weight has been a struggle for me.

It depends on how many calories you ate whether or not it’s considered I snack. I’m totally failing on the eating department here though so no judgement!
