I can't tolerate any antipsychotic, I'm desperate

Clozaril is Clozapine, it blocks D2 receptors but also acts on other receptors, I think it even acts on muscarinic receptors.

So basically does lots of blocking?
I assume that’s why I have so much negative symptoms

Anhedonia, Apathy, social withdrawal etc

Do you have primarily positive or negative symptoms?if it’s positive, feel free to try karxt when it comes out , it has a large effect size compared to a lot of medicine, try ulotaront if it’s negative

I prefer Ulotaront a thousand times. The problem is that Ulotaront failed in phase 3 for schizophrenia. I don’t know if the phase 3 tests will be done again.

How do we know which is better?
Usually don’t these meds have to come through and have some years of studies before really knowing long term?

Anyhow can’t wait for those novel meds to come out so we can try

Ulotaront continues in clinical trials for anxiety and depressive disorders, among others. But for schizophrenia it failed in phase 3 about 4 months ago. It’s a shame because it was a very promising antipsychotic, with almost non-existent side effects, and effective against all the symptoms of schizophrenia. It did not show a difference with the placebo, but the laboratory attributed the result to the pandemic.

Ahhh hopefully it will pass on next one? KarXT too…
But then the wait to get it in Canada lol

Niavana it really sucks that you can’t tolerate any brands of antipsychotics. I too am beginning to tolerate antipsychotics very badly so I’ve started to lowering my meds.
We all get older and I’ve been using antipsychotics for 30 years.

Did you reduce your medications on your own, Or did the doctor allow it? What antipsychotic are you taking?

I did it on my own because I think that I’ve got a burned out Schizophrenia.
Still I stay on my depot injection as maintained treatment.
The amount of meds I was on made me sluggish and stupid. My doc knows nothing about Schizophrenia and antipsychotics.

Yes for schizophrenia

That sounds great bro. Could you give me some source or news that confirms it? I thought Ulotaront was no longer being tested for schizophrenia.
