I can't make decisions, a poll

I found a leather look jacket, that was $160 for $30 at JCPENNEY. But I need auto care. Should I return it? It’s one size too big.

One way to look at it is if the car repair is a necessity. You don’t want to put off an important repair because when a car needs work, a lot of times if you don’t take care of it right away, not only does the problem get worse but it usually gets more expensive. And if the jacket doesn’t fit why would you want it? I don’t know what’s wrong with your car but I think fixing your car would be more of a priority then a new jacket.

Give it an earnest attempt to return, but if you’ve tried what you could and still can’t find the owner, consider it yours.

I think you should take it back, especially if doesn’t even fit.

If you had $30 more would you be able to afford the car repair? Can you get the car repaired and keep the jacket?

If the answer are “no” and “yes” then I would keep the jacket.

I guess they are nice if you like fancy, but i never liked it.

I know. You’re right. The jacket probably wouldn’t be that big with sweaters.

No. I bought it on sale. It’s a good deal, and I don’t know if it’s worth returning.

Ah, take it back then. Car is a bigger need.

Not making a decision is a decision.

I took it back, to avoid being too broke.

The thought of my years of bus riding motivates me to be grateful and take care of my car and take care of repairs immediately.

And the thought of my sister getting mad at me motivates me to keep it clean, lol.

Yes. I thought it would be cheaper to get a new car. But my credit is bad, so I got an extended warranty, so can’t afford much.

You got to watch those warranty’s. A lot of them are not as good as the salesperson makes them sound. That’s how car sales people make their money and so they sometimes make them sound like you need them more than you really do. And that goes for many other big purchases too like TV’s, stereo’s, vacuum cleaners etc.

Well I found out, I should never have gotten one, when I first bought my car. Because I never needed one. But now it’s got 147,000 miles on it. I got a warranty from a place on TV. My car, most likely will start needing expensive things.

You might want try to make the car last longer and run better by having routine maintenance done on a timely basis. i.e. oil changes, belts inspected, fluids all checked, tires kept inflated properly etc. If you still have the original manual they usually give a timeline on what needs to be done and when to do it.

For example (just examples, it’s different for different cars) oil change at 3000 miles, tires rotated\ at 4000 miles, transmission inspected at 8000 miles etc.

If you don’t have the manual you might try Amazon.com or the dealership or downloading it off the internet. Have the car inspected regularly by a trusted mechanic. And of course an obvious tip is that it is usually more expensive to get repairs done at the dealership so take it to a good mechanic for repairs.

I have the manual. I’ve been keeping up with the maintenance.

That’s just stuff I learned in many years of driving. Some of it I had to learn the hard way.

I know. I was so stupid when I had a Camaro. I think I rarely changed the oil.
