I’m struggling because I can’t clean my house.
Just do a bit at a time. It might take a while, but eventually it gets better
Don’t clean the house. Just pick a small corner or spot and clean it. When it’s done and you’re recharged, pick the next spot.
I went way too long not cleaning because of this feeling and I got over it by pushing myself to do one little thing at a time. At first I’d clean for a few minutes and get overwhelmed. A year later my house is almost always clean, though I still struggle with the dishes
I’m a former chef, right? Dishes aren’t my problem.
Except that I’m a FORMER chef and now they are MY problem.
Fxxx me.
I swear dishes are the worst. I’ll take laundry over dishes any day, and I have a mini washer and no dryer lol
There’s a lot of psychology in it. This week I washed the floor at the place I work which is like 5 times the size of my whole compartment, yet I haven’t washed the floor here, it’s long overdue.
It definitly has something to do with low motivation, not living with someone, and rarely having guests.
For dishes i put a big plastic bin on the counter. So we put dirty dishes in the bin and keep the sink empty. Then I just take a few dishes at a times out of the bin to clean them instead of try to tackle a sink full of dishes.
Works for me. If the sink is full of dishes i procrastinate and cant use sink anymore but if i pull a few out of a bin throughout the day thats more manageable.

yes me too. i try to do something each day but whenever my mother comes she finds dirt i cant for the life of me find.
The worst part is the food stuck on and hardening. I am trying to remember to dump what’s left in the trash at least before putting it in the sink. Cause it might not get cleaned for a week or more.
Soak them in hotwater for a while if you can before trying to clean
I used to do that then I had to use that bin for something else, maybe time to get a new bin lol

Like others have said, just pick one task a week and do that. If you complete that and you feel ambitious then do two things. Reward yourself after you complete something, a nice meal or something
My house stays clean because I’m scared of my wife.
As others have said, take small steps. It gets easier!
I have reached a better point now, but when I started, my house was just awful. Last week I was celebrating because I finally deep cleaned my fridge. It hadn’t been deep cleaned since before my breakdown and going on APs.
Yeah. Long time.
I just went through the freezer and picked out stuff that we’re never going to eat or that is freezer burned. My wife tucks every little leftover into it. The fridge freezer is now half empty.
Nice @anon4362788
I dread opening the fridge. Now that you have it deep cleaned. Maintain it.
I think I will do a deep clean - its one of the worst thing in the house to clean.
Can you afford to get a cleaner once a month?
Once a month can be enough to get a nice clean.
That’s a good idea. Maybe hire some teenager or college kid from your neighborhood who wants to earn some extra pocket money and pay them $40 or $50 to come and clean a couple days a month. To find one maybe put up a flyer at your local laundromat or the library that says you’re looking for someone.
