Thanks for the encouraging words @anon99082702
I’m glad you have help @firemonkey
Yeah. Maybe a roommate would help @Wave
Not well. I stay in my room alone most of the time.
Well at least you can do that. At least there’s some relief for you there
@RYS, welcome to the forum!!!
Hello mate. Welcome.
i relate to your post. I barely can do anything if it wasn’t for my mum and dad, they help me with everything. If i didn’t have them i would be in the long term psych ward, not sure what they call it again.
I do get help from a girl from mobile team. She takes me out for a walk once a month. It used to be weekly but they made it less cause there was too many other people who need help too and i didn’t want them to invest all their time in me.
I’m glad you have help @lekkerhondje. I think that was so thoughtful of you to give your time to others. Are you ok with the one walk per month? Does it still help you? I’m glad you have your parents.
yea i found it really hard when i heard there was so many people on the waiting list so i agreed with mobile team girl to cut it back.
It’s ok one month a walk… i don’t get to go out so much but it’s ok.
I’m glad you got your husband =)
we really need some help huh, it’s nice we got people that stick around for us.
I am so grateful to have him in my life @lekkerhondje. I guess we should focus on the positive.
yea totally, focusing on the positives is the best we can do =)
I completely relate to this thread…I rely on my father and my step-mother. I keep thinking that I can get a friend or even a wife, then I won’t be depended on anybody. You can get another husband or a couple of good friends, if something happens to your husband.
I’ve been living on my own since September 2008. Currently I live in government subsidized housing where you pay 30% of your income towards rent & utilities.
Maybe if you socialize more, you will be able to handle life more…and then you will be more independent.
I would have to take care of myself completely in the interim and I don’t know if I can do that
That’s great! There’s a 10 year wait in my state so they closed the waitlist. It’s simply not available right now
Sorry to hear that. I think there’s two vacant apartments on my floor. There might be some on the other floors as well. I’ve been here since December 2008.
That’s great that there’s apartments available to low income people. They’re hard to come by
I thin the reason there are vacancies is it’s a Drug-Free premises. No drugs allowed, even in your apartment. It’s also Smoke-Free (Tobacco). Alcohol only in your apartment, prohibited in the common areas.
