I blame the dieters

I’ve been unable to get my Ozempic for almost a week. I blame the off label dieting usage for the shortage and my pharmacy being unable to secure a diabetes drug.

I honestly would rather switch to another diabetes drug but this is what they have me on.

I think Imma ask them to switch me back to Jardiance.

Yes I’m diabetic and facing the same situation as you @Bowens

I’m currently on Mounjaro, I was previously on Ozempic.

Same thing, it’s so difficult to get a hold of these drugs thanks to the dieters.

But don’t get me wrong I’m also using this drug to lose some weight myself

Can you go on to Metforman?

My dr offered me an opportunity to use injections to lose weight. I refused because it’s not fair for people with diabetes

It’s a huge problem. They absolutely should not be prescribing it for off-label use when there is a shortage and diabetics are the priority.

I use Berberine supplement for weight loss. I read its as effective as weight loss drugs.

It isn’t. I took it for six months and gained. Three weeks on Saxenda and the kilos are dropping off of me.

It must be my extreme diet then. I fast for 20h.

Fasting messes with my blood sugar. I have to spread my calories throughout the day. My problem now is that it is hard to eat enough.

This reminded me of that song from the sugar crisp commercial.

“Cant get enough of that sugar crisp”

I find it depressing is that for most of the people using these drugs now, it’s vanity at the expense of the health of those who actually need them. Dollars and likes are more valuable than people and life.

I have a severe heart condition and my heart can no longer support my current body weight because it has been growing weaker. That is why I am using Saxenda.

Idk why anybody would wanna try to lose weight on ozempic I’ve seen my sister the only reason she lost weight was due to the ozempic making her sick as hell I would rather eat nothing else but banana cream pie and McDonald’s at that point she’s diabetic that’s why she takes it but my god i thought she was gonna die when she started out but she seems to be doing better

I hope the supply ramps up when the hype of it is over. It’s all over the news etc so everyone trying to lose weight is trying to get their hands on it

It beats dying of health complications. I only get sick if I try to eat past when I am full. I have learned to take 1/4 to 1/5 of a normal portion, eat slowly, and stop the moment discomfort starts. Otherwise I have profound nausea for hours.

That’s true too i guess if its life or death then it’s a good idea I’ve just seen my sister get sick off of it too many times she thought of going vegan to stop feeling sick

It’s crazy to me that patients with diabetes aren’t getting priority on these drugs. After all their on-label use is for controlling diabetes.

Even people who are only slightly overweight are requesting these drugs for weight loss. Won’t the weight be regained when the drugs are stopped? Or are people planning on staying on these drugs forever?

I think it probably will come back when they stop also diabetics need the med weight loss shouldn’t make it so people who need it to LIVE suffer because somebody wanted to look thin that’s just my opinion
